It's finally done!

May I present to you Amethyst and Amber, her Rapidash.

This drawing is also a great way to start my New year's resolutions as:
- it has a background (partial, but it's there!) :la:
- it's a different pose from what I usually do


I think this is my best piece currently, though I hope I'll be able to do much better at the end of the year.
Onwards towards more improvement!

This is cute. :3 I really like the pastel colors, but the border around the background feels a little awkward with the grass patches that are outside the border. Other than that, it's nice. :3

I see what you mean.
I tried keeping the border-colour as light as possible, though I have to admit I initially wanted to opt for a circular border. ^^;

It looked odd as it always cut off part of the leg of the Rapidash or part of the figure of the girl.
I don't know, it didn't really work composition-wise with the way I tried it. OTL"

HM.... Maybe you could try scrapping the border and just have the background image be a bit bigger and fade out or maybe "scribble" out . Or maybe it would look good without the patches of grass outside the border.. hmm...

This is a nice concept and it's good to change a bit.
I like the background not covering all the "main" subject!
