Sorry for fav' bombing you like that. :sheepish: by blunaowl
I made a folder for free icons for myself and others in future.
Your free stuff is so cute, so it was one of the first galleries I had to visit. :la:

I need to update a few of my WIPs. :stare:
By a few, I mean 18. I'm so freakin' slow getting through them. ;-;
Heavily regretting that long hiatus right now. It's majorly messed up my production time.

Yeah, I was planning on doing a pixel advent calendar again this year but I was so busy with university. I should probably just plan it a few months in advance, really. Let alone updating those old pixels. No time for that! :faint:

And ohgod, 18 WIPs? Good luck! D:

Thank you. ^^;
I always have a ridiculous amount of unfinished artwork due to my lack of confidence. I keep seeing where all my mistakes are, fix them and still end up hating the piece regardless. All I hear going through my head is "you can do better". It strips away any pride or sense of achievement I might have felt for the drawing I was doing. I think it's less so a problem with my ability and more of a problem with how I'm seeing myself. It's so frustrating. It's probably why I'm struggling so much with trying to finish my friends birthday gift... It's already a weak overdue and the more time that passes, the more upset I'm becoming with myself...

I'mma let you in on a secret. I have that with every pixel and drawing I make. :paranoid:

BUT: the only way to work through that is to draw a lot, and while this is easier said than done: draw a lot of sketches without worrying about perfection.
Just loose gestures can help for instance, because gestures aren't supposed to be perfect. Oh, and chibi-sketches are also always helpful for me personally, because it's not realistic in proportions, meaning I don't have to strive for that perfect realism.

And if I may recommend one book, it'd be "Art & Fear".
Reading that has helped me tremendously in getting over my crippling perfectionism (or at least partially).

Plus, I'm sure your friend will like the drawing because it's a thoughtful gift coming from you!
And there'll be only one drawing like it, so it's unique on top of that. :la:
