In this small introductory journal, I'd like to explain an idea for a project I'm expanding upon.
So stay put, it's going to be an interesting read, I promise!
What are Acts of Random Kindness?
Acts of Random Projects, also known as ARKs is a project that was initially started by MzzAzn and builds upon the idea of "paying it forward".
Basically, each month you commit yourself to doing at least one or two (or more) random acts of kindness to spread positivity throughout the community.
This can be done by leaving small positive comments on pieces that haven't been commented on yet, by making art for someone, by giving points to donate towards someone's goal and in a various amount of other ways. The main idea is simply to do something constructive to make another person smile. It doesn't need to be a big gesture, it's the sentiment behind it that counts.
Why should I participate?
Besides the fact that you'll be a positive force within the community, the idea of this project is to randomly reward those who partake in it. Good deeds deserve to be acknowledged, no?
That being said, the main idea still is to spread some positivity in the community by means of small acts of random kindness.
How do I participate?
Keep a look-out for people who contribute a lot to the community without asking for something in return. Look up new deviants and welcome them to the site. Basically anyone can participate, as long as you're doing something positive where you go.
This is still a WIP-project.
Organisation-wise, there's still a lot that needs to be sorted out, such as how to keep track of those who participate in the project and such. That being said: I hope this introductory-journal to the project has at least piqued your interest.
Groups backing this project
And be sure to show MzzAzn some love for being the first to start the project up.
I'm merely working with what she started.
I usually try to help people that means try to encourage them and inspire them. My first good act I have been taking part in was the group #Write2liveCancerFree. It is a group where monthly winners are picked which will be published in a book by the end of the year. The money goes to a cancer research center.
Unfortunately the group "Love-Lit-Community" does not exist anymore but I have taken part in `KathrynODriscoll's review project.
Now I am taking part at #PoeticalCondition's GGG (Gigantic Generosity Giveaway) including features, reviews, comments, DLD suggestion, compliments, poetry form writing etc.
I featured well-known but also unknown artists to support them in my first feature.
The first thing do is , give them a llama .
Then I always have nice , positive things to say ,
to build up their confidence .
I even have many , many of them on my watch list ,
and I always choose some of their work for my favorites .
It makes for a very eclectic grouping of art ...ha,ha
So if you think you would like to have me join your group ,
let me know .
eace and love ~
It's for everyone and anyone to join and take part in, no need to ask for permission.
Hopefully more people and the community an see this!
And ah, yes. That'd be awesome if more people participated. C:
I've actually started spreading my wings and moving outside the Lit Community. I've started watching a couple visual art groups and a couple times a week, I go through their stack in my MC and comment on deviations that I find appealing. Sometimes they're really popular deviations, sometimes I'm the only one commenting.
I know I'd appreciate more comments, and I'm certain others feel the same way. Faves are grand, but comments (and something more than, "I like this") always make you feel better.
It's what I try to do as well, especially since I know how fun it is to get feedback on something you worked hard on.
Which makes it great that you're already doing this as well!
I have thanked for her idea...
I have to say this though... but I guess I may be older than most of you guys...LOL....
This is the sort of thing I have been doing ever since I started on DA....
If this is a community than one must obviously help each other.... however... things are indeed not always so, and for somebody as young as she looks.... she deserves to have recognition for the idea....
If you need/want me to participate just let me know.... as I said...
This is one of my daily practices whenever I am on line... but I can still give you a hand...
Just let me know what happens next...
Have a good week ALL OF YOU!!!!!
And indeed, she thought up a great project with this.
Have a great week yourself! <3
It is called kindness and respect.
I used to list out the things I would do monthly.
I recently had to stop listing due to my schedule.
If you ever need a hand with anything after the middle of this month let me know!
That being said: I do hope taht by making it a more site-wide project, it'll be easier to keep it going.
And I will!
Lots of love to give.
