Tell us a bit about yourself, *Bloddroppe! How did you get into photography and why?
I've been interested in art since young age. I used to draw a lot during high school, especially realistic portraits. But after a time I felt that I wanted to experiment with other medias. I photographed a lot of nature with a point and shoot camera at first but I felt that I would like to try working with models instead. So I asked my best friend to model for me in a great field of flowers. I think it was my first shoot with a model so it was very fun and since that shoot I've wanted to continue with photography.

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and what you do on deviantART?
My name is Shivadeep (better known as Sid), 5” 7, black eyes and wheatish complexion. I am an online marketing professional by my profession however I am also a graphics designer, photographer and web coder. I am a perfectionist, I like to make online friends a lot and I like helping others.
I started as a desktop wallpaper artist in deviantART and now expanded my reach to web coding/designing. Presently, I am mostly occupied on creating customization resources/tutorials for deviants and creating journal/gallery skins. I provide these resources/tutorials for free so that everyone on DA can customize their profile to their heart’s content.

Cody Brown lives with one foot in Maine and one in Brigard. Some people do not approve of this, but he does not much care. When not writing, Cody is working on world-building. And if there's one piece of advice I can give to artists of all skill levels,
it's to-
Stay humble while being proud.
For those of you who think you have reached your best, stop right there.
Their is ALWAYS someone better in their own right.

Don't consider those who are just starting out as "the little people"
and never EVER get offended if someone who you feel is under-skilled offers you a tip.
Perhaps they know a new method or a new way to do something that you have yet to come across.
You'll never know unless you hear them out.
("But I don't have time for that!") All well and good,
if you don't have the time state so politely while still letting them know that if you had a moment,
you would converse artistically with them.

And as far as criticism goes,
I strongly suggest that you do not become so puffed up in the head as to yell at someone

Interview 'User Styles'User Styles are - even though there aren't many contributors - quite popular within dA and are mostly used to optimize a new feature to our own needs. It is pure CSS that modifies the appearance of a website just for you - no one else will see the changes you make.
To be able to use User Styles, you will need a browser extension called Stylish.
As part of our 5th birthday i have interviewed three guys that are familiar with User Styles and that also offer them for others to use. Please say hello to `electricjonny, `rotane and =trezoid!

Important Point News & Long Beach Comic ConOur DArt group is in full swing and many additions our coming your way. Not just with the Teen Titans Project in general but as well with this group. We are going to be having so many more features for you to enjoy. Things that will help, YOU get noticed! There is a future art contest on the way, that is in the works. #AllArtSupport Hello Dan, please tell us a little bit about yourself. How did you get into the world of photo manipulation?
*neverdying Hello! Thank you for having me here. My interest in art comes from the time I was in high school. I was playing around in Photoshop (version 5 I think!), mixing images and textures together trying to create some artworks for my musical projects. I don't think that the term "photo manipulation" was used a lot back then. I always called it Photo Montage. Then after high school it was clear that I wanted to pursue studies in graphic design. I did so and I began to work as a freelancer for a photographer, some businesses and a few local music bands. Now I still do all of these, but I enjoy working for me more. It allows me to be a lot more creative.

It doesn't define me anyway, right?

You come from a town in Texas called Abilene, which is in the South. I think the South is always portrayed as a part of the USA with a rich, distinct culture and history.
Can you give me a bit of insight into Southern culture and do you find artistic inspiration in your surroundings and how does the Southern influence express itself in your artwork?
Yes there is a lot of history here, and the area is full of culture. In our town of Abilene Texas, we have a historic downtown area with art galleries and museums and a fully interactive history museum here called Frontier Texas!
Hope - as a concept - what does it mean to you in an artistic sense? And in a Life sense?
Hope is very important, and when you have Becker Muscular Dystrophy you have to have hope

Project Educate: An Interview with =r0se-designs

=r0se-designs definitely has one of the sweetest icon-galleries on this site.

Just looking at it can give you a sugar-rush!

For this reason, she is one of the inspiring iconists that were interviewed for the Icons & Handhelds-week.

How long have you been active as an iconist and what was it that first drew you towards the community and art form?

I've been an iconist for about 1,5 year now. What drew me in was that I really wanted to make an icon of my own. I made my first =r0se-designs-icon and that set me off. And then I thought why not share them with others? I started out with really bad quality and with time, effort and some wonderful tutorials on DA I improved with each new icon.

What do you draw inspiration from?

Anything really. Well anything cute that is. And I see cuteness in anything!

From the simplest thing to the most outrageous. If I look at a pillow and if it looks cute... I'll make a pillow! Oooh! Nice idea!

What are your tools when creating art?

Do you have tips to give or tricks to share for the particular programs you might use that could help beginners out?

Well I've worked with Photoshop and Gimp in the past but I use Macromedia Fireworks 8 for my icons. Unfortunately it's not a free-to-use program. However if someone does have it, it's really simple to use, layers are created automatically so it's very easy and generally it's a realyl good program. Also I work with a mouse and not a tablet. I find I can be much more accurate with the mouse, but I must say it needs more patience. Sometimes when I'm bored I might use a tablet.

Who is your "idol" within the community and why?

Oh, I couldn't choose from one. There are a few I'd like to mention: *MenInASuitcase, *staticwind, =firstfear, *angelishi and there are more. I just find that they have so much detail in their work and even the simplest thing looks amazing! That's what made me want to excell in my work too.
