Supporting blackout

Wed Jan 18, 2012, 12:29 PM
Though I still need to be on the site to get some stuff done, I am supporting the blackout-movement and hope more people will see and support it through this journal.
Also: take a look at the #hq-blog to debate the bills.

Last but not least (and relevant): even though I don't live in the USA, I don't support a bill that will effectively take away a person's freedom of speech.
Therefore:

Blackout your journal, #StopSOPA - Wednesday January 18th

I've seen it, yes.
However, most of the other information I could find about it was from 2010 or earlier. :confused:

This bill can't be pass because it will interfere with the 1st amendment and the 9th amendment will take action because it will protect all rights not listed in congress.

And if somehow SOPA is passed. Hackers could easily work around the censoring and those who cant hack will suffer.

I'm not a citizen of the USA, so please forgive me if my knowledge on the 1st and 9th amendment is basic at best. ^^;
However, from what I gather from the info I can find on the web, it does seem to be in conflict indeed.

And if somehow SOPA is passed. Hackers could easily work around the censoring and those who cant hack will suffer.
And thus the companies will have nothing and the innocent bystanders will have nothing either.
Sounds like a great bill they're trying to pass there. :noes:
